Study of tourist housing

The vacation rentals project in Formentera began in 2022 and aims to provide an in-depth analysis of the most significant data surrounding the marketing of this type of tourist accommodation, which is highly representative of Formentera in terms of entire units offered and rented on the Airbnb online portal. In addition to current data, we also present historical data ranging from October 2014 to 2023.

The most significant variables or indicators collected in the study include: available vacation rentals and rented vacation rentals, nights booked in vacation rentals, occupancy rates, average daily rate in euros, and revenue per available room for vacation rentals. It also covers the average length of stay, supply and demand for nights, and total revenue forecasts in euros.

Historical occupancy rates for both vacation rentals and hotel accommodation establishments in Formentera are presented by month and year, etc.

The nationalities of tourists who have stayed in a vacation rental in Formentera marketed on Airbnb are represented on a world map by country and city of origin.

Booked vacation rentals marketed on Airbnb are represented on a map of the island of Formentera according to the nationality of the tourists, the reference period, and the country and city of origin.
