The vacation rental project in Formentera began in 2022 and aims to gain in-depth knowledge of the most relevant data surrounding the commercialization of this type of tourist accommodation, which is so representative of Formentera in terms of entire units offered and rented on the Airbnb online platform. Although we provide current data, we also present a historical record starting from October 2014 through 2023.

The most interesting variables or indicators collected in the study are: available vacation rental homes and rented vacation homes, nights reserved in vacation homes, their occupancy rate, their average daily rate in euros, and revenue per available room in vacation homes; it also gathers the average length of stay, the supply and demand of nights, as well as the total revenue forecast in euros. The history of the occupancy rate for vacation homes and hotel tourist accommodation establishments in Formentera is presented based on the month and year, etc.

The nationalities of tourists who have stayed in a vacation rental in Formentera marketed on Airbnb are represented on a world map, according to their country and city of origin.
